Due to expansion and continued growth, we are looking for an eager and tenacious apprentice to Join a global leader in manufacturing interior trim & upholstery for classic cars. This full-time role either on a four day week and will incorporate all the aspects required to produce quality products for the classic car industry.
What you will do in your working day
Modernisation has led to investment in computer aided cutting machinery which increases both our time and material efficiency in producing all our classic car upholstery. All original patterns are digitised into our database and cut the same each time, making sure our upholstery fits right every time while still using the skill, experience and knowledge of the Newton Commercial team. Our cutting machine cuts across all our material ranges, from carpet to vinyl to leather using the highest quality UK sourced material throughout production.
As we produce bespoke hand-crafted products training and skill sets are key. From running are CNC cutting machine to are industrial sewing machines.
- Learning all areas of the kit assembly area
- Quality checking and kit assembly ready for the next department.
- Learning all aspects of our raw materials which includes fabric knowledge and QC checking
- Stock taking and locations
- Being trained in quality checking is also a big part of this role.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- After completing the Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship, there are progression routes within the company
Desired skills and personal qualities
Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Patience
GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade Level 2/C/4) Desired
