Luke was born with a 5% chance to survive due to a heart condition. He has lived life dealing with his cerebral palsy, dyslexia and limited opportunities. This affected his mental health as all he’d ever wanted is to be treated the same as everyone else. Luke joined the Inspire Suffolk Team Programme to make friends and be treated as an equal.
During his time on the programme, Luke became the most respected member of the team and formed some lasting friendships. He showed himself to be kind, selfless and a great support for other members of the team. When he went for surgery during residential, his team sent him messages of support and were eager to have him back! Although, at the beginning of his journey, his goals focused on acceptance from his peers, he developed the confidence to find a job and is now employed at his local Tesco store.
